KHHP Successful Summer 2013 exPANsion- THANK YOU!

October 5, 2013

Dear Friends, Family, Colleagues, and Community:

I am writing to announce that together we have surpassed my fundraising goal needed to meet Kuumba Holistic Healing Project's (KHHP) summer Practitioner expenses. Enclosed are summer picture tours and information on the goals met, which YOUR donation made possible this summer.

Check out my updated user friendly website: KuumbaProject.Blogspot.com for continued updates and resources, offering opportunities to continue to foster the soul care in health care. Additionally, creative pieces which document my summer experiences at: KuumbaProject.blogspot.com such as "Summer Chronicle Stories" are there for your perusing pleasures.

Thank YOU for your continued support, and giving the gift that keeps on giving!
If you did not get the opportunity to fiscally give this summer, thank you for your continued encouragement and prayer donations, as KHHP expands it's business platform in moving forward. As other opportunities to invest in expanding ventures that affirm holistic mental health and honoring  creativity arise, I will keep you posted.

Your time is appreciated. Together, we leave the community better than we found it.

Sincerely,

T. Sacred

Thank you community: Due to your support in the past 4 months, I was able to:
    •  Envision and co facilitate a space to support the fostering of dreams of fellow people of color through a "Dapper Divas Networking Brunch," where we fed our bodies, minds, and spirits (endorsed by Fundraising Activist Geeks);
    • Facilitate a "Sacred Arts" Book making project group and women's empowerment group for adults with acute mental health and developmental challenges. They saw their journeys mirrored in their creations;
    • Innovatively offer counseling to adults on 3 mental health units: Women's, Second Chance, and Interfaith units, using drama therapy, interfaith counseling, and other holistic tools
    • Collaborate with medical unit teams regarding patient treatment plans to maximize client centered care;
    • Complete psychiatric and chaplain training from various clinicians across mental hospital departments;
    • Collaborate with the only mental health hospital in U.S. with a model of honoring Spirit in care;
    • Become certified as an interfaith chaplain;
    • Acted as the invited theme Speaker at Unity Fellowship Church Brooklyn honoring Elder GLBTQ women (many of African Descent) "Iyami Brunch;"
    • Tour the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain, and virtually shared resources on Autism with our community(ies); &
    • In process: Donate a portion of the Summer's proceeds to support Trinity Place Shelter for GLBT youth.
